Meet Christian Torres! Christian is a senior at East Hall High School and plays power forward. He hopes to play Division 1 basketball in college.
We want to thank Christian for telling us more about his life and love of Hall County.

Question: Please begin by telling me a little bit about you and your family.

Answer: I am Christian Torres. I am a child of God. I love playing basketball and playing video games. My mom is African American and my dad was born in Mexico and lived there his entire childhood. I was born in Lula and have been here ever since.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about your school?

A: “My favorite thing about school is meeting my friends and learning new things.”

Q: Why do you love playing basketball?

A: “I love the competitive atmosphere of playing basketball and basketball has always made me feel loved and happy.”

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Hall County?

A:My favorite restaurant in Hall County is Huey Magoos.”

Q: Who is your favorite teacher/and or coach?

A: “My favorite teacher/coach is Coach Yancey. He has really made a huge impact on my life.”

Q: What do you love about Hall County and the community that you are a part of?

A: “What I love the most about my community is our pride that we have in winning and what I love most about the county is that every school is competitive and wants to win.”

Q: What is one major lesson that you have learned from your sport?

A: “One major lesson I learned from this year is don’t take any days off. You can never know when it is your last day at practice or a game.”

Q: What is some advice that you would give to younger athletes?

A: “One piece of advice that I would give younger athletes is to never give up and it can’t storm forever.”

Q: What are your goals for the future?

A: “My goal for the future is to have a full ride scholarship and to play professionally after college.”
