Meet Margaret Embry! She is a senior at Gainesville High School and plans to attend Georgia Southern University in the fall. Her parents are Elizabeth and Cooper Embry, and her siblings are Charters and Price.
Question: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Answer: “I’m the youngest of three. My sister is the oldest, she’s 23 and graduated from UGA and now works for Forum. My brother is 19 and goes to UGA.”
Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “I’ll be attending Georgia Southern University to major in fashion merchandising.”
Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “I love eating at Bluefin and The Collegiate.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “I would like to go to Hawaii because I love tropical places and I’ve always wanted to surf.”
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “My favorite movie is ‘Forever My Girl’ my favorite TV show is ‘Gossip Girl.'”
Q: If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
A: “I would say take it all in while you can because it goes by so quick and you’ll be graduating before you know it so if you come across a rough patch just remember that if it won’t matter in five years only worry about it for five minutes.”
Q: If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
A: “Hannah Montana.”
Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
A: “If I could choose to go to lunch with anyone it would be my grandmother Margaret who is my mom’s mom. She passed away when my mom was 18 and my mom has told me all about her throughout my life and I know it would be so special to spend time with her.”
Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “My favorite thing about our community is all of the traditions that I’ve been able to be a part of growing up.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A: “I see myself with my own clothing business traveling the world but having my main home on an island.”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “Skydiving.”
Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “Tate McRae.”
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “My favorite month is June because it’s a start of summer and my favorite day is June 7 because it’s my birthday. My favorite holiday is Christmas, I look forward to it year around.”
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “Some good pasta.”
Q: What is something you want to do as soon as this pandemic is finished?
A: “I want to go to a lot of concerts.”
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My brother is someone who inspires me to be better because he has always protected me and guided me in the right direction. He also shows me how a boy should treat me and helps me realize my worth through any situation.”
