Meet Shealyn Schultz! Shealyn is a recent Flowery Branch High School graduate and plans to attend Kennesaw State University in the fall.

Question: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Answer: “I have a very supportive twin brother who is interested in being an electrician and an older brother who is a manager at Rachetties and works on cars on the side. I also live with both my parents who both work at Wrigley’s. My dad is a supervisor of maintenance and my mom works in an office there but I do not know exactly what she does. I also have four dogs with big personalities that I love so much.”

Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “I plan on attending Kennesaw State University for my undergraduate and then transferring to The University of Georgia or Georgia Tech for civil engineering after those one to two years.”

Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “Rachettie’s and Zaxby’s.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “I would love to travel to Iceland and Germany. I love the nature in both the locations and I have dreamed of going to both these places since I was very little.”

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “‘Gilmore Girls.'”

Q: If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
A: “To fully love everything you are doing. If you cannot see yourself doing something in a few months or are not excited to get up every morning and do that one thing then it might be time to let go of something.
“Don’t ever be fully satisfied with where you are in life and as a person, you can always grow and find new things to love.
“Don’t be afraid of change because sometimes it helps more than you would think. I also highly recommend setting up a type of schedule for yourself to stay on top of school work because I have learned that it actually can make you happier when you don’t have a lingering feeling about being unaccomplished.”

Q: If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
A: “I do not know but I think it would be cool to be in a type of action or comedic type of movie.”

Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
A: “Ryan Reynolds, Zandaya, Tom Holland, or Johnny Deep. They are some of my favorite actors and I do not know where but I would love to have dinner somewhere casual but aesthetically very cool.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “How welcoming it is and the activities you can do like going to the Williams Mill Greenspace or Elachee. I also like some of the small family owned stores and how small the community feels.”

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A: “Having a full time job, in a home with the people and pets I love, and hopefully being the best version of myself I can be.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “It’s a bit unusual but I would love to completely renovate a house by myself.”

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “I do not have a favorite band but I love listening to 2000′ music, Post Malone, Olivia Rodrigo or musicals like Dear Evan Hansen or The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical.”

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “I love the months April and October because they change into my favorite weather. My favorite holiday is Christmas, not for the gifts but for the music and decorations.”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “Photography or Puppies.”

Q: What is something you want to do as soon as this pandemic is finished?
A: “I would love to travel to Iceland and Germany or even go on a very long road trip around the country. I love nature and the outdoors and I think it would be really cool to do this in a camper or a converted van.”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My Aunt Amanda Grace.”
