Meet Kennedy Smallwood! Kennedy is a senior at North Hall High School and the daughter of Jason and Brooke Smallwood. Kennedy has two sisters and plans to attend the University of North Georgia in the fall and study nursing.

Question: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Answer: “My mom, Brooke and dad, Jason were both born and raised in Gainesville, I am the middle child of three. I have an older sister, Bentley and a little sister, Lilly…my two best friends in the world. My sisters and I have all lived in Gainesville since we were born and love to call it home.”

Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “I will be attending University of North GA in the fall of 2022 to major in nursing.”

Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “Chicken Salad Chick and Poor Richards.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “Treasure Cay, Abaco, Bahamas. My Grandfather has a villa there and no matter how many time I go there, it will always be my happy place and a place that was very special to my dad.”

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “One of my favorite movies of all time is ‘Christmas Vacation.'”

Q: If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
A: “Run towards your goals and don’t wish high school away, it goes by faster than anything.”

Q: If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
A: “‘Grey’s Anatomy’ for sure.”

Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
A: “Harrison Haynes or Darryl Smallwood, my two grandfathers. They are two of the most important people in my life and some of the greatest role models I know. We would definitely go to Jay-Lou’s.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “No matter where I go, I still feel at home because I can always find a friendly face, at the same time  it is a growing community and I have the privilege to experience all the opportunities that bring.”

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A: “I expect to have a bachelors degree in nursing and furthering my education in a specialty nursing program. I plan to settle into a nursing career so that I can give back to my community.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “Getting my pilots licenses and going sky diving.”

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “Jason Aldean, Sturgill Simpson or Chris Stapleton.”

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “My favorite month is May, favorite holiday is Christmas and the best single day is probably Easter Day.”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “My grandmother’s cooking!”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My momma, every. single. day.”
