Meet John Jessup! John will graduate from Gainesville High School in May and will be running track and cross country at the University of Georgia in the fall. His parents are Randy and Amy Jessup and he has one brother, Ben and a sister, Elizabeth. Congrats John!
Question: What are your plans after graduation?
Answer: “I will be attending the University of Georgia where I will be running cross country and track, and I plan to major in Marketing.”Â
Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “I’d have to say El Sombrero and Wild Wing Cafe.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “I’d love to go to Hawaii, that’s been on my bucket list for a while.”
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “My favorite TV shows are ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Modern Family,’ and I love a lot of the Marvel and Star Wars movies.”Â
Q: If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
A: “I think it’s important to live in the moment. It’s easy to get fixated on the future and miss out on the present so I think I’d tell everyone to just live in the moment and make the most out of every day.”Â
Q: If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
A: “I’d definitely want to be in the Outer Banks, it would be so fun to live out on the beach and look for lost treasure.”Â
Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
A: “I’d choose Kirby Smart, it would be fun to see his thoughts on life and how he built the UGA football team, and I’d take him to get wings at Wild Wing Cafe.”
Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “My favorite part about Gainesville is how much pride everyone has for the community. You can tell everyone loves Gainesville and wants to see it grow and succeed.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A: “I hope to be wrapping up my time in college with a degree, and settling down somewhere with a stable job. I’d love to do some traveling and also I hope to start a family a few years after college.”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “Something I’ve always dreamed of doing is breaking 4 minutes in the mile. Every runner dreams of breaking this barrier so being able to do that would be a dream.”
Q: What is your go to band / singer when you can’t decide what to listen to?
A: “I love a lot of different music, but my favorite artists are Drake, J Cole, Zac Brown Band, and Morgan Wallen.”
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “My favorite month is May, my favorite Holiday is Christmas, and my favorite day on the calendar is whatever day the last day of school is each year.”Â
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “A hot and fresh Krispy Kreme Donut.”
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My parents and brother inspire me a lot, seeing them be successful makes me want to do the same.”
