Meet Luke Cooper! Luke is a senior at Gainesville High School and plans to attend the University of North Georgia in the fall. His parents are Walter and Angie Cooper and he has a brother, John Carter.

Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Answer: “My mom, Angie is a second grade teacher at Enota Elementary. My dad, Walter works for Claxton Poultry and my brother John Carter is a junior at Georgia Southern University. We have lived in Gainesville my whole life.”

Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “I plan to attend the University of North Georgia and major in Business Administration.”

Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “Stan’s and Inn Between.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “I would travel to Argentina to fly fish the freshwater for golden dorado, or I would go to the Bahamas to fish the flats for bonefish.”

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “‘American Sniper’ is one of my favorite movies.  I don’t really watch TV shows.”

Q: If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
A: “Enjoy every day and be yourself.”

Q: If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
A: “‘Cars’ the movie series.”

Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
A: “I would choose Ray Cooper my Dad’s father, my grandfather. He passed on long before I was born. I would ask him questions about his life, growing up, and about life in general. I would take him to Inn Between.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “I like how tight knit Gainesville is and no matter where you go, you will always run into someone you know.”

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A:”In 5 years, I hope to be a college graduate traveling the world before I settle down.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “I would like to travel to Egypt to see the pyramids.”

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “Grateful Dead.”

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “June is my favorite month. Christmas is my favorite holiday.”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “Drake – my dog is definitely a 10/10.”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My parents inspire me to be better along with so many others who have encouraged me. Some have been in my life forever and some just this year. I am thankful.”
