What High School do you attend?
North Hall High School.
Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have a mom and stepdad, Fran and Sal Barcenas, who own a Mexican restaurant named El Tepache Mexican Grill. My father, Brent Garrett, is married to Shea Garrett, owns a car wash named Xtreme Clean Auto Spa. I have a brother in middle school who loves baseball and three step siblings.
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan, as of now, to go to Georgia Tech to pursue my interests in computer science. There, I’d like to look into some other interests I have like boxing, game design, philosophy, and astronomy.
What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
El Tepache Mexican Grill and Zen Ramen.
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would love to travel to Ireland, the Netherlands, or any Nordic country, really. Their cultures, societies, and
environments are all so interesting to me. In America, I’d like to see parts of New England as I loved the area when I first visited.
What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
I love ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail.’
If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
Stay dedicated and strong willed. Hard things are rewarding but are never easy and you will fail along the way, but that’s ok.
If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
If I could have lunch with anyone, dead or alive, I would perhaps chose Marcus Aurelius, the Roman emperor. I think his advice and mindset are very interesting and I’d love to talk with him about these things. I would take him to Zen Ramen because of the calm environment.
What is your favorite thing about our community?
The people; many are kind, and that’s all I could ask for.
Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A renowned computer scientist or programmer, and potentially married, too.
What is something on your bucket list?
Visiting all western and middle-European countries.
What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
Hozier.
Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
Favorite month? Between May or December. My favorite holiday is easily Christmas, which also accounts for the best single day on the calendar.
What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
My girlfriend, computer science, video games, and burgers.
Who inspires you to be better?
The great scientists of history and Marcus Aurelius.
