Meet Scott Glover, the owner of Mountain Fresh Creamery in Clermont.
Scott is a fourth generation dairy farmer and grew up working alongside his grandfather and father on the dairy farm. Scott is married to Jennifer Glover and the couple has two children, the oldest is 12 year old Eliza Jane and youngest is their one year old son, Layne.
Scott and his wife Jennifer started the Glo-Crest dairy farm in 2000 and opened up their family business Mountain Fresh Creamery in 2011. Scott is a member of both the the Georgia Milk Producers and the Georgia Dairy Youth Foundation’s Board of Directors, and Jennifer is a board member for the American Dairy Association of Georgia.
We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Scott Glover to learn more about their love for Hall County as well as their farm and business.
Question: What inspired or led you to your current career?
Answer: “I am a fourth generation dairy farmer and have always been passionate about dairy cows, taking care of cows, and the dairy industry. I spent a lot of time working on my grandfather’s dairy farm and I just knew that this is what i wanted to do.”
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Hall County? Why?
A: “My favorite restaurant in Hall County would have to be 2 Dog because they use the all natural dairy products from our farm in their food.”
Q: How long have lived or worked in Hall County?
A: “I have lived in Hall County my entire life.”
Q: Who is the most interesting person you have met in Hall County?
A: “I would have to say my grandparents because of all the history they talk about and it’s neat to bridge the gap between how they grew up and lived verses how things are done today.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?
A: “I would visit Australia.”
Q: What advice would you give to a crowd of people?
A: “Drink more milk.”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “I would love to travel with my wife.”
Q: What is your favorite music genre and what three bands you would like to see dead or alive?
A: “For me it would be 80’s type music and country music, I would want to see The Bellamy Brothers, The Bee Gees and Fleetwood Mac.”
Q: Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? Where in Hall County would you have lunch?
A: “Right now, I would have lunch with Sonny Perdue, and we would have it at the Burger Shack.”
Q: What is your favorite thing about Hall County?
A: “I think the diversity of the county itself, we are in the country but yet Gainesville is a place where you can get just about anything you need.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in five or 10 years?
A: “Hopefully doing exactly what we are doing right now.”
Q: What three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the words home?
A: “Mountains, North Georgia and Clermont.”
