This is a short Q and A with Brad Abernathy, Principal Partner Abernathy Cochran Group at The Norton Agency.

Please tell us a little bit about your family.

My family is a blessing.  Jill and I have been married 24 years.  We have 2 daughters, Sadie and Kate.  Sadie has just completed her second year at Georgia Tech and looks forward to a career in medicine.  Kate has just completed her Junior year at Gainesville High School.  She is looking forward to a career in education.

Please tell us about your current career.  Thing you love most about what you do.

I love helping people buy and sell real estate with an emphasis on homes.  Homes are vital and a part of the family.  I want people to have wonderful homes.

Question: What inspired you or led you to your current career?

Answer: Real estate is a family business for me.  I grew up with it at the dinner table.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in Hall County?

A: Two of the best things I have ever ordered in Hall County are the fried chicken biscuit with sun dried tomato gravy at 2DOG and the pork belly sandwich at Hop’s Kitchen.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?

A: My whole life.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

A: Wade Lindorme.  I can remember meeting Wade when I was very young.  We lived on the same street.  He was one of my father’s best friends.  I have been out of this country very few times in my life, but two of them were with Wade.  We spent a week in the Cayman Islands once, we went fishing in northern Canada once, and I have also crossed the continental divide on a 9 day horseback trip with Wade.  He loves life and has one of the best laughs you will ever hear.

A: Def Leppard

A: George W. Bush.  We would eat lunch at 2Dog Cafe..
