Meet Caroline Pendarvis! Caroline is a senior at Gainesville High School and plans to attend the University of Georgia in the fall. Her parents are Derek and Scarlet Pendarvis and she has a brother and a sister.

Please tell us a little bit about your family.
“My parents are Derek and Scarlet Pendarvis. I have an older brother, Connor Pendarvis, a freshman at UNG and a little sister, Millie Pendarvis in 5th grade at Lakeview Academy.”

What are your plans after graduation?
“I plan to go to the University of Georgia and major in biology, then attend Physician Assistant school after college. Go Dawgs!”

What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
“2 Dog and Blue Fin.”

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
“I would travel to the Bahamas. I sure do miss the beach.”

What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
“My all time favorite movie is ‘My Girl.'”

If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
“Trust the process! Overthinking won’t help the situation, everything happens for a reason and has a greater purpose.”

If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
“‘Criminal Minds,’ the BAU is so interesting!”

If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
“I would have lunch with my grandmother. I haven’t been able to see her since the pandemic began last March and I would take her to Blue Fin.”

What is your favorite thing about our community?
“I love that the whole community come out to support the local Gainesville football team every Friday night in the fall.”

Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
“Working as a physician assistant and traveling often!”

What is something on your bucket list?
“Snow ski the Swiss Alps.”

What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
“Post Malone for sure.”

Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
“My favorite month of the year is July because I get to work at YMCA camp High Harbor. My favorite holiday is Halloween. Best single day on the calendar will be my first day of classes at UGA! I can’t wait to be a Dawg!”

What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
“I think everything has room for improvement, nothing is a solid 10. But Bruster’s Ice Cream comes pretty close.”

What is something you want to do as soon as this pandemic is finished?
“I can’t wait to go to a concert!”

Who inspires you to be better?
“I’m inspired by a lot of things and people, but my internal drive keeps me going. My dad is pretty inspiring when it comes to doing well in school and going after what you’re passionate about.”
