Meet Sally Turner! Sally is a senior at Gainesville High School. She plans to attend Georgia College in the fall. Sally’s parents are Joe and Dottie Turner and she has one brother and sister.

Please tell us a little bit about your family.
“My parents are Joe and Dottie Turner. My dad was born and raised here and my mom moved here when she was little. I have a brother currently in college at Troy University and a sister who just graduated from Mississippi State University in 2020.”

What are your plans after graduation?
“I plan on going to Georgia College to study computer science.”

What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
“2 Dog and El Sombrero.”

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
“If I could travel anywhere in the world right now it would be Fiji. I have always seen pictures of it and it looks so beautiful.”

What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
“My favorite movie would have to be any of the high school musicals.”

If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
“I would just say to be nice because you never know what people are going through, in the end the people who were the nicest go further in life.”

If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
“I would cast myself into ‘Schitt’s Creek’ because I feel I have the same personality as the characters.”

If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
“I am not sure. Anyone famous would be very cool to meet.”

What is your favorite thing about our community?
“I love how everyone is always nice to each other!”

Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
“I hope to see myself very successful and hopefully married and starting a family of my own.”

What is something on your bucket list?
“I have always wanted to hang glide.”

What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
“My go to singer is always Chris Stapleton.”

Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
“My favorite month is July and my favorite holiday is 4th of July!”

What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
“Chick-fil-A’s spicy chicken sandwich.”

What is something you want to do as soon as this pandemic is finished?
“Go to a concert!!!”

Who inspires you to be better?
“My mom.”
