Meet Tatum Rutherford! Tatum is a senior at Gainesville High School. She plans to attend the University of Georgia in the fall.

Please tell us a little bit about your family.
“I am the oldest of two siblings, my sister is a sophomore and my brother is a freshman. My dad is a sales manager for M Holland in Chicago and my mom is an entrepreneur and started her own business called Preferred Plastics.”

What are your plans after graduation?
“I will be attending the University of Georgia as a Biology major in hopes of going into the dental field.”

What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
“Bluefin and Sweet Magnolias.”

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
“Greece.”

What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
“‘Vampire Diaries’ and that 70’s show.'”

If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
“Work hard in school and be involved because it will pay off in the end.”

If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
“‘The Vampire Diaries’ as the character Elena.”

If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
“Morgan Wallen because he is my favorite artist and I would go to Sweet Magnolias.”

What is your favorite thing about our community?
“My favorite thing about our community is the large diverse population and how we all come together.”

Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
“In 10 years I hope to be married and pursuing a career in dental with 2 children and hopefully coaching youth soccer on the side.”

What is something on your bucket list?
“To go skydiving.”

What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
“Morgan Wallen.”

Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
“My favorite month is July and my favorite Holliday is the 4th of July because I get to spend it on the lake with my friends and family celebrating this wonderful country I am blessed to live in.”

What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
“A Chipotle burrito bowl.”

What is something you want to do as soon as this pandemic is finished?
“Go to a concert.”

Who inspires you to be better?
“Both of my parents. They both are so hardworking and inspire me everyday to do my best.”
