Meet Sydney Jones! Sydney is a senior at Cherokee Bluff High School. She plans to attend Covenant College in the fall and play basketball.
Please tell us a little bit about your family.
“My family is my everything, we are all so close. My dad has always been a football coach, so as a family we have moved around a lot for his job. My mom is a teacher, and was always at the same elementary school as me. I have an older sister that will turn 21 on May 10. We are extremely close and I consider her one of my best friends. I love my family more than anything and I am so fortunate that Jesus is at the center of my family. Growing up my life was revolved around high school football, and I would not trade this for the world. Playing on the field, equipment rooms, and becoming friends with my dad’s players are just some special memories I will cherish forever. I would say that football is a huge part of my life and has shaped me into the person I am today.”

“‘One Tree Hill’ or ‘Remember the Titans.'”
If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
“Advice I would give would probably be is to treat everyone with true kindness. I know it sounds so simple, but everyone deserves to be heard and to be treated well. I’ve learned throughout high school that there are always two sides to a story, and to base an opinion off of a rumor should not affect how you treat another person. Everyone deserves to be heard and given a chance.”

If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
