The Atlanta Botanical Gardens Gainesville is a great way to spend afternoons with the family or even alone for a quiet stroll. The gardens are open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday April to October and will feature some great events and exhibits you won’t want to miss this spring.

Dougherty, is an artist from North Carolina, and has been acclaimed internationally for his sculptures that are made with organic materials that will break down over time.

On Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. there is a weekly Children’s Story Time; which is free with garden admission or annual membership.
If you haven’t visited the Gainesville location, it’s a must this spring. From the visitor center, outdoor gardens and amphitheater, it’s a one of Gainesville’s newest gems. The gardens are located on land donated by Charles and Lessie Smithgall, and will eventually be one of the largest and diverse woodland gardens in the country.
