Meet Donangelo Marshall! Donangelo is a senior at Gainesville High School and plans to attend the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. His parents are Donald and Anna and he has a brother and two sisters.
Please tell us a little bit about your family.
“My mothers name is Anna Marshall and my Father is Donald Marshall. My siblings are Ranaldo, Chermayne, and Krista. My family is precious to me and they are my biggest supporters; they help me with with all my endeavors any way they can and we love to lift each other up.”
What are your plans after graduation?
“I will be attending the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania for my undergraduate study. I plan on entering the field of real estate or advertising.”
What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
“Atlas Pizza and Zen Ramen.”
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
“I would like to go Northern Italy; I like the relaxed vibe that the area has and I love the nature.”
What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
“‘Scream 4’ or ‘White Chicks.'”
If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
“Make sure you develop good habits early on and understand the importance of work-life balance. Also don’t be afraid to meet new people and try new things because this is the perfect time to find your strengths.”
If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
“I don’t really watch TV anymore but when I was a kid I always thought it would be fun to be in one of those teen sitcoms like ‘Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide’ or ‘Icarly.’ The kids were always free spirited and those shows were a big part of my childhood.”
If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
“I would love to have lunch with Elon Musk. I think he’s a creative game changer in the business world, and I would love to see how he thinks. I would probably have lunch with him somewhere like Mellow Mushroom or El Sombrero.”
What is your favorite thing about our community?
“I love the socio-economic diversity. You can meet people from many different ethnic backgrounds here and learn a lot from the experiences of other people.”
Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
“Hopefully settled down with a good job and possibly starting a family. I hope I get to travel to many different places and make some good memories.”
What is something on your bucket list?
“Go on a hot air balloon ride. I think they are really cool and it would be awesome to see the sky filled with other people in hot air balloons as well.”
What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
“Probably Kanye West or Travis Scott. I love alternative Hip-Hop/R&B with electronic hints.”
Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
“My favorite month would probably be July. Summer is a really nice time to relax and I love summer evenings. My favorite holiday is Christmas because of the time I get to spend with friends and family and the homely feelings of the holiday season. The single best day on the calendar to me is my birthday– Aug. 6.”
What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
“Roller Coasters. The adrenaline rush you get is awesome and they are just a lot of fun.”
What is something you want to do as soon as this pandemic is finished?
“Definitely go to a concert. I’ve actually never been to one and I’ve been wanting to experience them for a while now so that’s the first thing that I would do.”
Who inspires you to be better?
“My family and the people that I haven’t met yet. What I mean by that is I plan on helping people by improving their quality of life so I know if I work hard I can help the lives of many people.”
