Meet Ashley Thompson! She is a senior at Gainesville High School and will be attending the University of Georgia in the fall on an athletic scholarship to run track and cross country. Her parents are Zack and Ali Thompson and she has a sister, Page.

Question: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Answer: “I am the youngest of two daughters. My parents are Zack and Ali Thompson.”

Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “I plan to attend the University of Georgia to major in kinesiology to hopefully because a sports medicine physician. I am also attending UGA on an athletic scholarship to run track and cross country.”

Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “My new favorite is Vicky’s tacos but my all time favorite has to be Two Dog Cafe.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “I would travel to Greece. I love the scenery and the beautiful waters. I also love how it is so different from anywhere I have been before.”

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “My favorite movie is ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.'”

Q: If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
A: “My advice would be to enjoy high school. Everyone always tries to fast track through high school and often forget to take it all in because you will never get this opportunity again. The memories you make in high school will last a lifetime so don’t miss out. Go to every sports game and hang out with your friends every Friday night or you’ll regret it later.”

Q: If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
A: “I would want to be cast into ‘Friends’ because it is my favorite.”

Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
A: “I would choose to have one last lunch with my Uncle Newt. He was super sweet and I would tell him about my scholarship to UGA and all my success because he was my biggest supporter.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “My favorite thing is how friendly everyone is. What I mean by this is how everyone waves when you drive by or you seem to run into everyone you know on the square.”

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A: “I see myself in a medical practice, being in sports medicine wherever that takes me.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “I would love to sky dive.”

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “I love to listen to Taylor swift. She has been my favorite since I was in middle school.”

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “My favorite month is August because it’s my birth month. My favorite holiday is Christmas because all of my family gets together and my favorite day on the calendar is May 20 because that is graduation.”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “I would rate my friend group a 10 out of 10. They are amazing and brighten my day every time I see them.”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “Coach Corbett inspires me with his patience and how he gives back to the community every chance he can. Also how he gives everything he has into this program.”
