Meet Brock Moody! Meet Brock Moody! Brock is currently a sophomore at Chestatee High School and the son of Dave and Beverly. He recently placed third in the Centurion Boats 25th World Wake Surfing Championship in Texas.
We want to thank Brock for spending time with us recently and telling us more about his life and love of Hall County.

Question: Please tell us a little bit about you and your family?
Answer: “My family is heavily involved with Hall County Schools. My dad works in the central office and my mom is a principal at the World Language Academy. My sister attends college at Augusta University.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about Chestatee High School?
A: “The community that surrounds it.”  

Q: Why do you love your sport?
A: “It’s a stress reliever that you can’t find in another sport.”

Q: Can you tell us about your competitive nature? And what is your motivation to really work hard in competition?
A: “I’ve always had a competitive edge to me. After seeing that I could be the youngest to win in a world competition motivated me to push harder.”

Q: When did you start wake surfing?
A: “A little over two years ago.”

Q: How did you get into the sport?
A: “A friend took me out and we did it and it just took off from there.”

Q: Who is your favorite teacher or coach, why?
A: “Coach Travis. He was my basketball coach from last year when I first moved to Chestatee. He could relate to me more than anyone at the school and was just so supportive of me through everything.”

Q: What do you like about your community?
A: “How well we work together in times that are rough.”

Q: What is advice you would give to a younger athlete?
A: “You are going to fail, that is the nature of competition. Don’t let it stop you and keep pushing forward.”
