Meet Makius Scott! Makius is a senior at Gainesville High School and will attend the University of South Carolina to play football in the fall. We want to congratulate Makius and his family on his upcoming graduation and best wishes on his future endeavors.

Question: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Answer: “I have a big family and we are all close to each other. And my family goes from my friends as well.”

Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “Go to the the University of South Carolina and get my Degree and If I have the chance to go to the NFL then go to The NFL.”

Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “I really don’t have a favorite most of them are good to me.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “Los Angeles or Miami, because I like going to the beach and also I’ve never been to Miami or Los Angeles so it would be a cool experience to visit either one.”

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “‘Remember the Titans.'”

Q: If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
A: “When things are not going your way keep pushing through it, and take it one step at a time, because there is going to be bumps in the road you have just have to get over them one step at a time. And I would also tell them if you want to do something in life set a goal and attack it because no one can stop you but you.”

Q: If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
A: “All American.”

Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
A: “Ray Lewis because as a little kid I always loved is energy and the way he would go out and play showed how he loves the game. And we would meet at Longstreet.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “It’s a family and Gainesville will forever be in my heart.”

Q: Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
A: “In the NFL.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “Explore the world.”

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “Meek Mill.”

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “Favorite month would be March because that’s the month I was born in. Favorite holiday would be Christmas.”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “My character on and off the field.”

Q: What is something you want to do as soon as this pandemic is finished?
A: “Go the the mall.”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “Family and friends.”
