Meet Austin Hatcher! Austin is a senior at Flowery Branch High School. His parents are Mark and Stacy and a sister: Kiersten. Austin will attend Kennesaw State University in the fall.

Please tell us a little bit about your family.
“I have two hard working parents, Mark and Stacy, and a younger sister named Kiersten who tries to act older than she is. I also have a Weiner Dog named Max.”

What are your plans after graduation?
“My plans after graduation are to attend Kennesaw State University and live with my 3 best friends while studying Business.”

What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
“My two favorite restaurants in my community is Mellow Mushroom and McDonald’s.”

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
“If I could travel anywhere in the world I would travel to Tokyo, Japan. I love the scenery and the culture there, from clothes, shoes, and tv shows. My only concern would be what I would eat there because I’m a very picky eater.”

What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
“My favorite movie is ‘Napoleon Dynamite’ and my favorite tv show Naruto Shippuden.”

If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
“If I had to give any advice to the younger students at my school it would be don’t take a single day for granted. Treat every day like your last day of high school and make as many memories as you can with your friends or else it will be over before you know it.”

If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
“If I could be in any movie I would want to play Will Ferrell’s part in ‘Step Brothers.'”

If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
“If I could have lunch with anybody it would have to be Marshawn Lynch because he’s a really funny guy and would have a lot of cool stories to tell me. I’d probably take him to Dave & Busters or Mellow Mushroom.”

What is your favorite thing about our community?
“My favorite thing about my community is that there are plenty of people but still has that small town vibe where everybody knows everybody.”

Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
“In five to 10 years, I see myself finding or getting settled into my career saving money to find a house and starting a family.”

What is something on your bucket list?
“Something on my bucket list is to skydive.”

What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
“My go to musical artist is Frank Ocean.”

Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
“My favorite month is January because of the College Football Playoffs. My favorite holiday is either Thanksgiving or Christmas. My favorite single day on the calendar is my birthday, Nov. 14.”

What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
“Panera’s Mac & Cheese or the TV show ‘Demon Slayer’ on Netflix are a 10 out of 10.”

What is something you want to do as soon as this pandemic is finished?
“When the pandemic is finished I want to go to a live concert.”

Who inspires you to be better?
“My parents inspire me the most to be better.”
