Meet Robert Reisman! Robert is a senior at Gainesville High School and plans to attend Oglethorpe University in the fall to play basketball.

Please tell us a little bit about your family.
“I have lived here my whole life. My parents work in the community and are active in different organizations. I have been in Gainesville City Schools since kindergarten. I enjoy living on the lake and I have a brother and a sister who are both at Gainesville High School. I also have a dog!”

What are your plans after graduation?
“I am going to college at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta and will be playing basketball. I plan to get a degree in business.”

What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
“The Collegiate and El Sombrero.”

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
“Israel because that is where my ancestors are from and I have never been.”

What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
“‘Scarface.'”

If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
“Soak it all in because even though it may not seem like it your time in high school will be gone before you know it.”

If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
“‘Snowfall.'”

If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
“I would have lunch with Elon Musk and we would eat at Scott’s. I would choose him because he is very creative and successful and could help me with my business career.”

What is your favorite thing about our community?
“How connected everyone is with each other.”

Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
“Graduating college and playing basketball professionally or working for a major company.”

What is something on your bucket list?
“Going to see the Northern Lights.”

What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
“NBA Youngboy.”

Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
“November because it’s my birthday and it is close to Christmas, favorite holiday is Thanksgiving and best single day, every day is a good day.”

What is something you want to do as soon as this pandemic is finished?
“Travel.”

“My dad.”
