Meet Kelley Robertson! Kelley is a local lawyer and Senior Assistant District Attorney at the Northeastern Judicial Circuit in Gainesville. She is a longtime Gainesville resident, wife and mother.
She said her favorite thing about living in Hall County is, “The sense of community, people are very giving of their resources to help each other.”
We want to thank Kelley for recently meeting with us and telling us more about her life and love of Hall County.
Question: What inspired or led you to your current career?
Answer: “The most important moment of my life happened 10 months before I was born, when my brother died. The loss of my brother and the sense children need to be protected and I want to be that person.”
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Hall County, and what do you love there?
A: “2 Dog for brunch.”
Q: How long have lived or worked in Hall county?
A: “Since May of 2002.”
Q: Who is the most interesting person you have met in Hall County?
A: “Dan Summer, he was a defense attorney and passed away of ALS, he was so funny and had a big heart.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: “Glacier National Park, to see it while it is still there.”
Q: What is your favorite movie OR what is the first movie you remember seeing in a theater?
A: “The first movie is remember seeing is ‘An American Tale.’ My favorite movie is ‘It’s a Wonderful Life.’ I love the story of how he makes sacrifices for the good of his community.”
Q: What advice would you give to a crowd of people?
A: “Calm down!”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “Learn to play another musical instrument.”
Q: What is your favorite music/ three bands you would like to see (dead or alive)?
A: “The Beatles, Elvis, The Rolling Stones.”
Q: What former business makes you most nostalgic about Hall County?
A: “It’s still here, but I miss Thai Dish being on Thompson Bridge Road.”
Q: Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative: with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? Where in Hall County would you have lunch?
A: “Neil Degrass Tyson, an astrophysicist that hosts ‘Star Talks’ and teaches about space and science. We would eat at 2 Dog and eat outside and talk about space.”
Q: What is your favorite thing about Hall County?
A: “The sense of community, people are very giving of their resources to help each other.”
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: “We sang in a big group at Carnegie Hall in high school.”
Q: What three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the words HOME?
A: “Peace, love and happy.”
