Meet Trey McPhaul! Trey has been a Hall County resident since 2007 and is a self-proclaimed extrovert. His current career in technology sales keeps him busy but his other roles include: a partner in a new local startup PressOn paper company, a deacon at Lakewood Church, father to three and husband to wife of nine years, Natasha.
“Graham Williams is actually the mastermind behind it and I am just one of the partners,” Trey said. “Graham thought of this probably a year and a half ago, after he was looking for men’s stationary. He also had read a book about some of the greatest leaders in history being amazing writers and he decided for this (PressOn) to be an initiative of his.
“PressOn in a way, calls men to action and to use written words for good.”
We are so thankful Trey took a few minutes to sit down and chat with us about his love for Hall County!
Q: Who is the most interesting person you have met here in Hall County?
A: “John Morrison. He is a pastor at Lakewood Church and the perfect blend of extreme Biblical knowledge, dry sense of humor and fashion sense. I look to be like the guy on so many levels.”
Q: What inspired or led you to your current career?
A: “I have always loved technology. Seven years ago in Sunday school, Scott Smith asked what would we like to be doing if we could be doing anything? That pushed me to interview with my current company Bomgar. It was a two week interview. We sell security software to the government.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and why?
A: “I would go to Japan. Natasha would prefer that, she was an exchange student for months there. Also, they are on the leading edge of technology.”
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: “Definitely ‘Ferris Bueller‘s Day Off.’ I have the movie poster for my office but my wife won’t let me hang it.”
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: “I have owned a kickball league, HallBall since 2013.”
Q: What is your favorite thing about Hall County?
A: “The small town feel is the most appealing thing. It’s six hours to the beach, one hour to the mountains, and one hour to a major airport.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in five or 10 years?
A: “Still with the technology company hopefully in management to mentor some new reps. Ideally still in Gainesville working from home.”
Q: What are three words that come to mind when you think of the word Home?
A: “Safety. Relaxation. Homebase. I just love being at home.”
