Meet Eli Ligon! Eli is a senior at North Hall High School. In the fall he plans to attend Georgia Southern University. His parents are Rusty and Carol Ann and he has one sister, Emily. We want to congratulate Eli and his family on his upcoming graduation.

Question: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Answer: “My parents are Rusty and Carol Ann Ligon. My sister Emily is a 9th grader at Lakeview Academy.”

Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “After graduation I plan to attend Georgia Southern University and major in Construction Engineering/Construction Management.”

Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “My two favorite restaurants would definitely be Johnny’s Barbecue and the Collegiate Grill.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “I would take a road trip across the United States without any set agenda and see as much as possible. I have wanted to do that for a long time and I hope when this virus is over I will have the chance to get out and see the country.”

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “Right now, I am watching every season of the Dukes of Hazard (one of my parents’ favorites)! I do like binge watching all kinds of things though, but this is my current go to.”

Q: If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
A: “Live life to the fullest! Life can change in an instant. Don’t take for granted what you have been given today because it could be gone tomorrow.”

Q: If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
A: “‘Dukes of Hazard!'”

Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
A: “I would have lunch with Chase Elliot. I love NASCAR. This is something my dad and I enjoy together. If I got to have lunch with him, we would both enjoy getting to talk racing with him. We would have to eat a large cheeseburger together at the Dari Spot.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “I love how our community helps one another. I am a cancer survivor, and I have witnessed first hand over the the last six years that Gainesville is a family whether times are good or bad. It is truly a great place to live.”

Q: Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
A: “I will be finished with college and working in Construction Management.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “Definitely skydiving, although that scares my mom!”

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “Brantley Gilbert.”

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “April would be my favorite month, its my birthday. My favorite holiday is Christmas. The best single day would be hard, I love summer. I want to choose the whole season. It is my favorite time of year. I love being on the lake
and spending time outside.”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “Summer nights with my windows rolled down, driving to Lake Burton.”

Q: What is something you want to do as soon as this pandemic is finished?
A: “Hang out with all of my friends. I miss seeing everyone.”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My parents inspire me. They have always been here for me. I appreciate everything they have done for me in my life.”
