We want to thank Kris for recently spending time with us and telling us more about his life and love of Hall County.
Question: What inspired you or led you to your current career?
Answer: “My background is in business and finance, so I’ve always been interested in how business works. Then around 12 years ago I met Kevin West, who’s background is digital design and computer science. We became friends and decided to put both of our different backgrounds together to start a web media company.”
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Hall County, and what do you love there?
A: “My favorite restaurant would either be Longstreet Cafe or Mellow Mushroom. I love Longstreet’s fried chicken and mac-n-cheese. At Mellow Mushroom, I enjoy the Mellowterranean pizza!”
Q: How long have you lived or worked in Hall County?
A: “My family and I moved here when I was 5 years old, and I went to Gainesville High School.  After living in Atlanta for about eight years after college I moved back to Hall County. So, I have been back in Gainesville for about 14 years.”
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Hall County?
A: “I would say, Kevin Jarrard. I knew Kevin growing up and have always had a lot of respect for him. But I really respect his service in the United States Marine Corps, as well as the impact he’s had on our local community. And maybe most importantly, he seems to have done all of that while keeping his focus on his faith and his role as a husband and father.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: “I would take a trip to Yellowstone National Park. I have never been, and it seems like a great adventure to go on with a young family!”
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: “My favorite movie would have to be ‘Hoosiers.’ I’ve always been a big basketball fan.”
Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?
A: “Figure out what is most important to you and be disciplined enough to spend your time and energy on those things.”
Q: What is your favorite type of music? What are 3 bands you’d like to see, dead or alive?
A: “I love 80s music and if I could see three bands, I would like to see U2, Genesis, and The Police.”
Q: Choosing anyone non-relative: with whom would you love to have lunch? Where would you take them?
A: “I would love to take Mike Krzyzewski (Coach K) out to eat to talk to him about how he has sustained such a high level of success over such a long period of time. I would probably take him to the Collegiate Grill.”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “I’d really like to do an RV trip around the United States.”
Q: What is your favorite thing about Hall County?
A: “I love the people here.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in five or 10 years?
A: “I see my life being very similar to how it is now. I’d like for Full Media to expand and I would still be living in Hall County.”
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: “Most people don’t know that I have become a fan of ballet because of my daughter’s involvement in the Gainesville Ballet Company.”
Q: What are three words or phrases that come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: “Family, community, and belonging”
