Meet Lydia Kerr! She and her husband Collin moved to Gainesville about a year and a half ago when Collin took the position as Young Life Area Director for Hall County. Lydia has since built a local graphic design company, Telltale Design, and we were lucky enough to snag a cup of coffee and a chat with her!
Question: What inspired you or led you to your current career?
Answer: “I have a degree in public relations and a background in marketing. Doing wedding invites on the side led to graphic design. I just knew I wanted to do something creative with people.”
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Hall County?
A: “Laura Head. She is the first person we met, had just turned 50 and dyed her hair blue. Nothing she does surprises me but everything she does surprises me!”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “Thailand! I would love to go for a couple of months.”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “I really want to climb a big mountain or to Everest base camp … or open a coffee shop.”
Q: What is your favorite music/3 bands you would like to see (dead or alive)?
A: “James Taylor, I would see any day of the week! And John Mayer and Oh Hellos.”
Q: What is your favorite breakfast restaurant in Hall County?
A: “Breakfast burritos at Carniceria Tapatia on Browns Bridge Road.”
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about Hall County?
A: “I love that we know our UPS man, the small town family feel and size.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
A: “Still doing graphic design and possibly living in Portland or Seattle.”
Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: “That I lived on a sailboat for four months in the Caribbean.”
Q: What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word home?
A: “Community, Consistency and Cooking.”
