Meet Cody Brewer! Cody is a senior at Gainesville High School and will be attending South Georgia State College in the fall and will be playing baseball. His parents are Lee and Laney Brewer and he has three siblings; Susie, William and Leland. We want to wish Cody all the best in the future!
Question: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Answer: “I have 3 siblings: Susie Brewer, William Brewer, and Leland Brewer. I live with my mom in Gainesville and my dad lives in Marietta. I enjoy visiting my grandparents, Susan and Steve Gilliam.”
Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “I plan to continue playing baseball at South Georgia State College and getting an associates degree in Health and Human Performance. SGSC is a D1 JUCO where I will continue to develop, and eventually transfer to a 4-year school to keep playing baseball and earn my bachelors degree.”
Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “Longstreet and El Carreton.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “Santorini, Greece, because it looks amazing in the pictures.”
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “’42.'”
Q: :If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
A: “Enjoy every second of high school, because it goes by quicker than you could imagine.”
Q: If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
A: “It’s a movie, but ‘Harry Potter’ 100%.”
Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
A: “Shaq. What an experience that would be. We’d go to Panera for sure.”
Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “I love how supportive everyone in this community is for everything Gainesville.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A: “Still playing baseball somewhere I’m sure. I can’t see myself stop playing anytime soon. If it ends up not working out, I see myself becoming a physical therapist.”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “Going fishing with Cooper Reid.”
Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “Lil Wayne.”
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “May, because it’s my birth month and it’s when it actually starts to get hot and stay hot. Christmas. December 25. Nothing better than Christmas.”
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “Going to a baseball game with friends.”
Q: What is something you want to do as soon as this pandemic is finished?
A: “Get all the masks out of my car.”
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My dad.”
