Many of you may know local orthodontist Ron Wilson, as he and his practice is behind many of the perfect smiles in Northeast Georgia.
Ron was born and raised in Gainesville along with his parents, he attended Gainesville High and North Georgia College and State University.
“I went to Dental School and Orthodontic Residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta,” he said. “In 2006, we purchased Dr. Tommy Field’s 30 year old, local, orthodontic practice and transitioned it into Wilson Orthodontics; which now has six locations in Gainesville, Flowery Branch, Cleveland, Dawsonville, Dahlonega and Clermont.”
Ron’s wife of 10 years, Bonnie-Lynne, works alongside him and the couple has three children: Lilly-Kate (6), Baylor (5) and Hartley (2).
Recently we caught up with Ron and found out a little more about his life and love for Hall County.
Question: Who are some of the most interesting people you’ve met while living in Hall County?
Answer: “I admire and respect Mr. Abit Massey (president emeritus of the Georgia Poultry Federation. He has a unique, positive attitude, a passion for his special interests and an amazing ability to remember everyone’s name and details about their life.”
Q: If you could give a piece of advice to a crowd of people what would you say?
A: “Be passionate about whatever you decide to do and go ‘all in’ (give 110%).”
Q: What is your favorite thing about living and working in Hall County?
A: “It’s a great community to raise a family and has a deep history that is like no other area I know. I appreciate its support of entrepreneurship and its generosity as home to numerous charities and organizations that make it a better place to live.”
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Hall County and why?
A: “Luna’s. Everything on the menu is great, Juan is committed to providing a good experience, and it has stood the test of time.”
Q: What is your best tip for dental health?
A: “Smile! It’s contagious and will lower your risk of cardiovascular disease :) Find a local dentist you relate well to and develop a long-standing relationship with him/her.”
