One of the premier shopping events of the season is right around the corner! November 4th and 5th are the dates for the 25th Annual Marketplace sponsored by The Medical Center Auxiliary and Willis Investment Counsel benefitting Safe Kids of Gainesville/Hall County. The Tri-Chairwomen of this fantastic event, Leslie Miller, Caroline Nix and Maggie Griffin, could not be more excited.
Marketplace will play host to over 75 merchants from eight states with some exciting new vendors such as Feral Women’s Clothing, Renee Bouchon Art, and Watts Jewelry. Gainesville native, Beth Henson, is this year’s featured artist. Her artwork graces the marketing for this year’s event and it will be available in the live auction at the ever popular preview party on Thursday evening, Nov.3.
“I am so excited to be at Marketplace this year, my first time! The featured painting will be auctioned off at the preview party. That piece, “Summer ’16” (along with two smaller ones) is an abstract work, displaying the color palette of Marketplace this year and a layered, intuitive approach replete with gold leaf! This piece went through many transformations and unexpected challenges over the course of the summer, as did I, so it is somewhat autobiographical to my experience,” Beth said. “The paintings I will have for sale at my booth are all abstract as well, coming from the same creative place. There will more use of color and more gold and silver leaf. I will also have abstract painted tree decorations and hand-made soy candles!”
Tickets are available for purchase at www.nghs.com/tickets.
