Meet Charters Embry, the Braselton Rotary Club belle candidate for the 2016 Charity Ball. Charters is a senior at Gainesville High School, and makes sure to stay very involved. Charters is a member of Beta Club, National Honors Society, Spanish Honors Society, and has performed ballet at Gainesville Ballet for 15 years. Next year, she plans to attend the University of Georgia in the fall semester of 2017, hoping to find a career that suits her in the medical field. “I have loved representing the Braselton Rotary Club. It has been a lot of fun and a learning experience.”
We thank Charters for allowing us a few minutes to interview her.
Question: What made you want to do Charity Ball?
Answer: “I wanted to do Charity Ball so that I could be involved in the community. It has always looked like a lot of fun.”
Q: Why is feeding our future an important charity here in Hall County?
A: “Feeding our Future is important because it provides food to hungry children and to get the honor to be a part funding that organization makes me very grateful.”
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in town, and what do you love there?
A: “My favorite restaurant in town is Chilli’s. I always get the original chicken crispers with french fries and a sweet tea.”
Q: What is your favorite social outing?
A: “Definitely shopping around the square in downtown Gainesville.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now where would it be? Why?
A: “Europe, because it is beautiful and I want to try all of the different foods.”
Q: What is your favorite movie OR what is the first movie you remember seeing in a theatre?
A: “The Best of Me is my favorite movie, and the first movie I remember seeing is Shrek.”
Q: What advice would you give to a crowd of people?
A: “To never give up on yourself and to push yourself to be the best that you can be. It will always work out in your favor in the end.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “To sky dive.”
Q: What is your favorite music/ 3 bands you would like to see (dead or alive)?
A: “I would love to see Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, and Beyonce in concert.”
Q: What is your favorite thing about Hall County?
A: “I love how traditional it is and how everyone knows everyone.”
Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “After graduation, I plan on attending UGA and becoming a physician’s assistant.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
A: “In 10 years, I hope to be married and have a career in the medical field.”
