Meet Brad Wiegand! Brad is the owner of Boat Dock Works in Hall County and a lifetime Gainesville resident. Brad is married to Kristina and the couple has one daughter, Lillian Marie.
I was born and raised in Gainesville, I grew up playing on Lake Lanier,” Wiegand said. “When I graduated school, North Georgia College in 1999, I was looking for work to get into, some sort of a career or path…I grew up down on Dixon Circle and I started working for some of my neighbors down there and one of my projects was I rebuilt one of my neighbors boat dock and so it just went from there.
Brad began Boat Dock Works in 1999 and is currently finishing a large dock project at Chattahoochee Country Club.
It’s one of their biggest docks they put in to accommodate bigger boats and this particular dock with house up to 50 foot boats,” Wiegand said. “It has special decking pavers, it’s a really nice upscale product.
“I’m proud of that project because I grew up at the country club. Mom and Dad were members out there, so I’ve seen changes out there from the old swimming pool…it’s kind of evolved and here it is 40 years later and I’m part of that evolution and the updates.”
We thank Brad for taking the time to tell us a little more about himself and his love for the area.
