Meet Dr. Christina White! She works at Brenau University in Gainesville and handles the adult and graduate admissions and recruitment for the university. Christina is a longtime Hall County citizen and loves it due to the perfect location, she said.
Christina hopes she gets the opportunity to raise her two boys in the beautiful Hall County just like she was!
We recently caught up with Christina to find out more about her life and love of Hall County.
Question: What is your favorite restaurant in Hall County?
Answer: “I actually have two favorite restaurants, I love to go to 2 Dog and I love to go to Mellow Mushroom, for two very different reasons. Mellow Mushroom because her two boys love their pizza, and then when I want to be a little quieter it’s great to go to 2 Dog and have shrimp and grits and a good conversation.”
Q: How long have you lived and worked in Hall County?
A: “I have lived in Hall County for most of my life and I have worked at Brenau University for 18 years.”
Q: Who is the most interesting person you have met in Hall County?
A: “There are many interesting people here in Hall County, but the one i would choice is Dr. Bill Coates, he is my pastor at First Baptist but also a friend.”
Q: “If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
A: “I love to travel, and so getting to dream about where I would go is something I really enjoy. Right now I would love to go to Italy, I love the sunflower fields and I remember as a child being on a train and getting to look out and see them and it’s just a magical experience.”
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: “My favorite movie is probably not seen as a girl movie, I love the Jason Bourne series.”
Q: What advice would you give to a crowd of people?
A: “I would tell people to always be grateful for what has been given to them in their life, the good and the bad shapes you. I think it’s very important for us to stop and be grateful for the experiences we have been given.”
Q: What can you tell us about Brenau University?
A: “Brenau University has been in this community since 1878 and has a long standing tradition of educating women in our community, but Brenau also does many other things. Brenau has campuses across the state and has just recently opened a campus in Jacksonville Florida. At both locations we educate both men and women, we also educate about half our students in the online environment, and that is definitely the future of higher education and Brenau University.”
Q: Who is your favorite musical group or band?
A: “Growing up in Hall County I am very much influenced by the music of Athens, and the age I am R.E.M was big when I was in high school and all through college, so R.E.M is definitely my favorite band and I remember going to see them in Athens.”
Q: If you could have lunch with one person, dead or alive, who would it be?
A: “When I think about taking people to lunch it’s typically to 2 Dog, and I would love to take somebody like mother Teresa, someone who really understands the value of peace. Getting to have some time with her and getting to show her a place I enjoy would really be fun.”
Q: What do you love most about Hall County?
A: “I love the location of Hall County, I think we have been gifted with something special in our lake, in our mountains, being so close to the city, but also we can get to the beach.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
A: “In five or 10 years I will have children that are beginning to drive and then beginning to go off to college, so I think that will be a big part of where I will be in five or 10 years. Having said that, I love this location; I love Gainesville, Hall County and i hope i get to raise them here for most of those years.”
