Meet Riley Johnson! Riley is 6 years old and is in the first grade at Lakeview Academy. His parents are J.R. and Molly Johnson and he has a sister; Emma Claire.
Riley was diagnosed with leukemia in May 2016 and has been fighting ever since.
In two years, Riley will complete his cancer treatment at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. He receives chemotherapy once a month through a port along with daily treatment at home.

In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, local families affected by childhood cancer planned an event on the downtown Gainesville square to help raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer.
From 6-8 p.m. on Sept. 21, Gainesville will Go Gold with a fun and FREE event for the whole family. Stop by the square for live music by Jeremiah Reed & Heather Farr, Hotdog Ninja, face painting, popcorn and cotton candy, a petting zoo, corn hole and much more!
We want to thank Riley and his family for recently sitting down with us to find out more about his life and love of our community.
