Meet Courtney Rucker! Courtney is the owner of Courtney’s Cr’eme De La Cr’eme Creations on Oak St. in Gainesville. Cr’eme De La Cr’eme Creations is a bougie event space for parties featuring creme brulee and other treats. Courtney can host events in her space or any other location. She was a born and raised in Hall County, married and the mother of three daughters. 

We want to thank Courtney for spending time with us recently and telling us more about her life and love of Hall County.

Question: What inspired you or led you to your current career?

Answer: “I am so motivated to empower women and encourage them to do their best. I wanted to create a space where they could feel beautiful and come and be at peace with each other.” 

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Hall County, and what do you love there?

A: “First Watch. It is my absolute favorite.”

Q: How long have you lived or worked in Hall County?

A: “I have lived in Hall County my entire life and have worked in Hall County for over 20 years.”

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met in Hall County and why?

A: “I don’t have one specific person. Everybody’s interesting in their own way.”

Q: What is your favorite childhood memory?

A: “When I turned 13, I wanted a surprise party but my mom said she wouldn’t throw one for me. She ended up surprising me with one, and it was the best.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

A: “I would love to go to this restaurant called Saint James in Paris. I would love to recreate a place like it here in Gainesville.”

Q: What is the first movie you remember seeing in a theater?

A: “’Home Alone.’ It is my all time favorite, and I probably watch it at least once a month.”

Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?

A: “Never quit, always follow your heart, and take a risk. A risk is always worth taking.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?

A: “My dream is to have my own event space; it is my next big goal.”

Q: What is your favorite music/ three bands you would like to see (dead or alive)?

A: “I would love to go to one of Johnny Gill’s concerts; I love his music.”

Q: What local business makes you the most nostalgic about Hall County and why?

A: “I love the vibe in Dilettos; it is one of my favorite spaces in Hall County.”

Q: Choosing anyone (past or present and a non-relative), with whom would you love to have lunch?

A: “My mom passed in 2019. If I could, I would love to have her come to one of my dinner parties, sit at my table, and prepare her a meal.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about Hall County?

A: “I love the growth and diversity in Hall County. I love seeing how far we’ve come, especially in Gainesville.”

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?

A: “I see myself very well off financially and having the ability to serve so many others.”

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

A: “There isn’t something I can think of that they don’t know about me, but something a lot of people know about me is that I love helping people and supporting others.”

Q: What three words mean “Home” to you?

A: “I have peace.”

 

Q: If you were cast into a major motion picture and had your choice of anyone to be your co-star, who would you choose?

 

A: “I would probably choose my husband.”

 

Q: If you had a full-time staff member that was fully paid for, who would you choose?

 

A: “I would choose my husband. He always says I never pick him, so I’d pick him for this job.”
