Meet Andrew Jannakos! Andrew, a lifelong Flowery Branch resident, has auditioned for The Voice and was selected to participate in live auditions! Season 16 of the show, coached by Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine along with special guest coach John Legend, will premiere on Monday (2/25) on NBC.
“The real reason on how and why I got on The Voice, is my fiance Katie (the couple were engaged two weeks ago). She actually sponsored one of my videos without me even knowing…one of the producers saw me on Instagram, so he emailed me and said he would love for me to audition. I actually auditioned Season 9, I was 16 or 17, but I auditioned and I didn’t make it to executives or anything,” Andrew said. “I honestly, didn’t see the email for two weeks and I was just going through and saw an email from The Voice. I ran downstairs and said The Voice contacted me!
“It’s been a lot of fun. I’ve been back and forth to L.A. and I’ve made a lot of friends and connections with music.”
You may have heard Andrew perform locally at Mocha Moe’s in Flowery Branch and Tavern 53 in Hoschton.
“I’ve been singing my entire life. My mom (Kim) says that when I was 2 or 3 years old I would sing songs in perfect pitch. My mom sang and my granddad on my mom’s side was a singer, as well,” he said. “He’s really the reason why I started singing, he gave me my first guitar. I didn’t start really getting into my music hardcore until about a year and a half ago, around the time I met my fiance. It was a different relationship than I’ve ever been in, she has a son and he will be 3 (Brenson) in March. Both of them stole my heart real quick…he is my little rock.”
We want to thank Andrew for taking some time with us recently to tell us more about The Voice, his music and his love for Hall County.
