Meet Anslee Wilson! Anslee is a lifelong Gainesville resident, mother to Ella and Miller and married to Mitch. Anslee began her career in real estate in 1995, but eight years ago was led to begin her own elder care service: A Helping Hand Home Care.
After caring for her grandparents as they aged she realized that care giving services were needed in Hall County.
Anslee is a graduate of Gainesville High and the University of Georgia
She said that she loves the Hall County community and gives back to the community as much as she can by working with local organizations including WomenSource where she recently participated in Power of the Purse, the John Jarrard Foundation, the Community Council on Aging, Partnership for Gynecological Cancer and the annual Alzheimer’s Walk.
“I am so honored and blessed that so many people trust us at Helping Hand Home Care,” she said. “Hall County is full of generosity and I am so thankful to be able to give back to the community.”
Recently, we sat down with Anslee to talk to her about her life and love of Hall County.
Question: What led you to your current career?
Answer: “After caring for my grandparents, who were a very integral part of my life, I saw that there was a need that was coming to the forefront and decided to open my own care giving business eight ago. After starting the business , I worked 24 hours a day, seven days a week for probably four years but the hard work has paid off and I have an amazing office staff and about 55 caregivers.”
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Hall County?
A: “Monday night we eat at Longstreet, Tuesday El Sombrero, Wednesday Mellow Mushroom, Thursdays or Fridays Loco’s. But Luna’s would be my favorite!”
Q: What was the first movie that you saw in the theater?
A: “I think it was ‘Benji’ but ‘Grease’ is my favorite movie.”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “To travel Europe for a month and visit Italy, Greece and Germany.”
Q: What is your favorite thing about Hall County?
A: “I am so honored and blessed that so many people trust us at Helping Hand Home Care. Hall County is full of generosity and I am so thankful to be able to give back to the community.”
Q: Who is the most interesting person that you’ve met in Hall County?
A: “Janis Wilson, my mother-in-law. When I participated in Power of the Purse recently I said that the most influential person in my life was Janis because of my background in real estate, which she got me into. She owned the first female real estate company in Hall County and I began working for her when I graduated college and that inspired me to open my own business.”
Q: What are your three favorite bands?
A: “I love 70s music, I love Cake and Pat Benatar, Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac.”
Q: What is something about you that most people don’t know?
A: “I love to sing and dance and I do not like public speaking.”
Q: What three words mean HOME to you?
A: “God, Family and friends.”
