Meet Ashley Bates! Ashley has been a part of the Abernathy Cochran Group for the past 10 years, handling the group’s real estate social media marketing. She is a dedicated mom to Thomas and a social media manager for several local businesses in Gainesville, she is passionate about our community. Ashley also has a love for sports—especially the Georgia Bulldogs!

We want to thank Ashley for spending time with us recently and sharing more about her life and love for Hall County.

Please tell us a little bit about your family.
“I have one son, three siblings, a sweet dog named Rosie and 10 nieces and nephews. I love being a mom and an aunt.”

Question: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?

Answer: “Alpha Gyro Grill, Consuelo and Jersey Mikes. I love the chicken wrap with lemon potatoes at Alpha and the fried shrimp tacos at Consuelo.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “My sister just took a trip to Ireland, that would be an amazing trip. Or any beach on the west coast of Florida, just to relax and turn my phone off.”

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “‘The Sound of Music” and most anything on Bravo.”

Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
A: “Anthony Bourdain would be a dream. We would go to Consuelo or Alpha, he would have loved both of those restaurants and the owners.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “I love the diversity of our community, it reminds me of where I grew up in Orlando. I love the small town feel of Gainesville and how close the community is and always willing to help each other.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “Watching my son have a happy, fulfilling life and hopefully going to the Super Bowl one day.”

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “Dave Matthews, Chappell Roan, Mumford & Sons, Tupac.”

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “July, New Years Eve and Nov. 17 (my son’s birthday).”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “Any sunny, warm day on the beach, eating oysters and having a cocktail.”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My son, my friends, sweet neighbors and all the little ones in my life.”
