Meet Joshua Pawlos Pacheco! He recently graduated from Flowery Branch High School and plans to attend the University of North Georgia in the fall to study Kinesiology.
Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I’ve grown up in a two parent household with one sibling who is my brother. Both of my parents are immigrants, my dad is from Guatemela, and my mom is from Poland. In my household I grew up learning to speak 3 different languages, Spanish from one parent and polish and English from the other. My dad works for Truist and my mom works for a ministry based financial adviser company.
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to attend the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega. I will major in kinesiology with an exercise science background. I then plan to graduate with a bachelors of science and move on to PT School and also get my CSCS.
What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
The Stag Chophouse, Payton’s Pie Co.
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Poland, the is because of the rich family history that I have there as well as being able to see all of the important landmarks that pertain to my mom’s side of the family. Along with seeing the nature and landscape that Poland has to offer.

One of my favorite movies is ‘Passion of the Christ’ and my favorite TV show is ‘Law and Order SVU.’
If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
Advice I would give to my senior class is to never lose the bonds that we have built with one another and to pursue excellence to the best of our ability no matter what the circumstances are. For the underclassman, keep building memories and keep striving to be the best version of yourself, because you can’t always be your best today, but you can always get better today.
If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
I want to be the show ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ because it is a very interesting show.
If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
I would love to go to lunch Jesus from the Bible, this is because he’s is so full of wisdom and love, and I would love to talk to him about how I can develop as a spiritually mature young adult going into the future. I would definitely go to Peyton’s Pie in Flowery Branch.
