Dunlap graduated from Brenau University with a degree in Studio Art, specifically sculpture and ceramics and is currently an advisor for her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha.
She said the most satisfying time in her life was when she was focusing on her art in college.
“…entering art shows and winning ribbons. It’s nice to be validated for what you are doing,” she said.
Beyond art, Dunlap is a lover of the Gainesville community and her husband, Anderson Dunlap bought and revamped longtime local deli, The Inn-Between. The couple has been married for six years and have two children.
The Dunlap’s enjoy frequenting local eateries and events like The Collegiate, Mooney’s BBQ, Antebellum (both in Flowery Branch) and Mule Camp Market in the fall.
Melissa said her favorite thing about Hall County is, “it’s expanding but still feels small.”
She added that she would love to travel to Vietnam one day.
“It’s 70 degrees year around, the exchange rate is amazing and it’s beautiful.”
