Meet Michele Piucci! Michele is married to Andy. She met Andy when she worked for Baby Land General. They have a yellow lab named Biscuit. She is a lifelong Gainesville resident and has two sisters who live in Gainesville with their families. Michele is a local banker and is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet.
Question: Please tell us about your current career. What do you love most about what you do?
Answer: “I am at Peach State Bank & Trust and enjoy the very positive work environment. The people are great. I worked with several of my current colleagues back in The Citizens Bank days.”
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “I don’t want to leave anyone out. I like them all.”
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
A: “I was born and raised in Gainesville.”
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
A: “Big Jim Walters. He was one of a kind and a great man.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “Somewhere tropical. I need a warm getaway after 2020.”
Q: What advice would you give to people?
A: “Enjoy every stage of your life. You can never turn back the clock for a redo.”
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: “I don’t watch many movies these days, but I like the old classic comedies like ‘Animal House,’ ‘Caddyshack’ and ‘The Jerk.'”
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
A: “Gainesville-Hall County is a very giving community. I am associated with several non-profits and amazed by the continued support from businesses and individuals.”
Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
A: “The Triangle – which was located where The Little Ladybug is now. It was a hangout when I was a kid. Or the Cake Box.”
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
A: “I would love to sit down with Lessie Smithgall at Lunas and talk about her experiences over the last 110 years.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
A: “Hopefully retired!”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “I have always wanted to go whale watching – from a safe distance!”
Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “I love to listen to James Taylor, Jackson Browne and Elton John.”
Q: In hard times we can sometimes see and recognize greatness in those around us. Hard working. Positive attitudes. Helping on the front lines. Who is one of our local shining lights today?
A: “Sheriff Gerald Couch and Chief Jay Parrish for their efforts to keep our community safe.”
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
A: “Probably the Isle of Capri. It was beautiful.”
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “I would say December and Christmas. We get together with family and friends and usually plan a trip with our friends Nikki and Griff Law to celebrate Andy and Nikki’s December birthdays.”
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “Sunsets over Lake Lanier and the view of the mountains driving down Riverside Drive.”
Q: Who would you want to play you in a movie about your life?
A: “Julia Roberts, maybe? She is a Georgia girl with curly hair!”
Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
A: “Flowers blooming in the spring and Thanksgiving dinner in the oven.”
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “Any young person. Everyone needs a good mentor and role model to set a good example.”
