If you are in the mood for great authentic Mexican tacos, burritos and quesadillas; head over to Taqueria El Mercadito in Gainesville!
The unassuming storefront across from Lakeshore Mall is pumping out some of the freshest and tastiest tacos in town. We tried the carne asada, pollo and chorizo tacos recently and they do not disappoint! The tacos and burritos are topped with cilantro and onions with a choice of three hot sauces from the salsa bar. Try all three but the green tomatillo salsa is perfect with just the right amount of kick.
Other items on the menu are Barbacoa, Surtido and Carnitas which is sold by the pound, horchata (a traditional Mexican drink made with milk, almonds and other spices) and the ever popular torta.
The restaurant opened last April and stays busy through lunch and dinner; what’s even better are that the prices are easy on the wallet.
