The new City Park scoreboard is the biggest in the Southeast, measuring 31 x 52 feet.

The home of the Red Elephants recently got a HUGE addition! A 31 x 52 foot JUMBOTRON.
The scoreboard project was funded by a partnership between the Gainesville Athletic Club and the Gainesville City School System and is now the largest high school scoreboard in the Southeast, according to Gainesville High athletic director Adam Lindsey.
“There are a couple bigger in Texas,” he said. “The largest in Georgia was at Norcross, until now. It will have the full capabilities of a jumbotron digital scoreboard, think of it as a huge TV. There also will be the capability for video replay and commercials from sponsors.”
The scoreboard, installed by Formetco, is one of four being installed for Gainesville High athletics. New scoreboards also will be installed at Ivey Watson, the GHS gym and the softball complex.

“It (the scoreboard) adds to the quality of City Park, it’s just one more piece that makes City Park a special place,” Lindsey said.
