This July, Bob and Amanda Norton took a trip of a lifetime to Norway and Sweden. Bob and Amanda, both, hope to visit both countries again after experiencing the sights, sounds, spas and food of the Nordic countries.
“Our trip was first to Bergen, Norway for two days then Stockholm, Sweden for five days,” Amanda said. “We loved the city of Stockholm. It’s separated by water ways but easy to explore by walking, or hopping on a bike, bus or boat. The city has the most beautiful historic architecture and every turn has something different to see or do. We spent hours a day wandering the streets and popping into different restaurants and cafes.”

First dinner was by boat to Cornelius, renowned seafood restaurant, situated by the sea on a small island with spectacular views of the fjords.

We explored the fjords and waterfalls by rail and water.

Bob and Amanda Norton in Norway.

We rolled through Bergen by Segways, exploring the historic harbor, colorful buildings, cobbled alleys and wooden structures of its UNESCO-listed Bryggen district and Torget Fish Market.

Spent a morning unwinding in the spa with a classic Swedish massage.

We dined and danced at Stockholm’s City Hall, featuring its golden spire with Three Crowns, Home of the renowned Nobel Prize dinner where Royals and laureates are feted annually.

Biked through the city and Djurgarden to Rosendal Palace.

And in between all of that we stopped at many cafes and restaurants for drinks and food, including one restaurant on a dock with spectacular panoramic views.

Explored the city including Old Town, the Lutheran cathedral, main square and many winding streets and narrow alleyways.

Visited a famous Ice Bar. A unique and chilly experience in a bar where even drinks are served in glasses made of ice.
