Standard Service Restaurant and Tap Room will open in downtown Gainesville late this spring.
The team includes Atlanta Restaurateur Billy Streck of Hampton & Hudson, Nina & Rafi, Lyla Lila & Pielands; and Pour Tap Room Ramon Ballester & Jon Kim. Standard Service will feature 60 self-service beer taps! Set to serve lunch, happy hour and dinner, the restaurant will be located at 400 Jesse Jewell Parkway in a building that originally served as a gas station. Standard Service will focus on approachable offerings and twists on classics, with something for everyone. The menu will include snacks and apps to share, salads, sandwiches, entrees and sides. Standouts will include New Orleans BBQ Shrimp with seasoned beer butter & garlic crostini, Steak Frites with Kansas City strip, caramel shallot and dijon cream sauce and Pimento Mac & Cheese.
“Gainesville is one of my favorite towns, and we couldn’t be more excited to open Standard Service in such a great community,” said Billy Streck in a press release on April 21. “We can’t wait to get to know our neighbors and welcome them in for good beer, food and fun.”
Standard Service will feature an expansive patio and large garage doors that can be raised for an indoor/outdoor dining experience. With an entrance on the back of the building, the downstairs area will be a taproom with self-serve taps, TV’s for sports-watching and an expansive patio. At the taproom, guests will check in with their ID and credit/debit card. Once a tab is set up, it will be linked to a wristband, allowing guests to unlock a tap and pour as little or as much (up to a pint) as desired, charging only for what’s poured. There will be safeguards in place so the tap wall can be enjoyed responsibly. When done, guests will drop their wristband off, verify their tab and check out. (photo cred: Ash Wilson)
