Meet John Jacobs! John is an upcoming graduate of the University of Georgia and attended Lakeview Academy previously. His parents are Jay and Anna Jacobs and he has two sisters. We want to congratulate John and his family on his upcoming graduation and best wishes in the future.

Q: What college do you attend?
A: “The University of Georgia.”

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
A: “My parents are Anna and Jay Jacobs. I have two sisters, Lydia Gailey and Louisa Jacobs. An amazing brother in law, Jake Gailey. I also have a niece and a nephew that are my family’s world.”

Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: “With the impact of Covid-19 I am still searching for what my next move will be.”

Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “My two favorite restaurants are Avacados and Collegiate Grill.”

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “I would love to travel to Switzerland for the amazing scenery and for their chocolate.”

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “My favorite movie is ‘Casino Royale.’ Favorite TV show will always be ‘Friends.'”

Q: If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
A: “Regardless of how intelligent or ‘behind’ you might feel. Consistency is the answer. Stay with your values and do what you need to do. Work for small goals and things will go in your favor.”

Q: If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
A: “I would love to be in a Saturday Night Live skit.”

Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
A: “If I could choose anyone to have lunch with it would be Neil deGrasse Tyson because of his wealth of knowledge on the universe. I think it would be fascinating to pick his brain. I would take him to Scott’s Downtown.”

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “I love how our community collectively focuses on the future. There are so many special people in our community. Although we are smaller than most cities across the nation, Gainesville has an attitude of advancing
and inviting new ideas for business and cultural growth. There is a lot of passion to make where we live stand out. I don’t ever see that stopping, the newer generations value this community as it has provided us with so many
resources.”

Q: Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
A: In five to 10 years I see myself living in Gainesville with a family and being a positive influence in the lives of less fortunate kids in our community. This community has a lot of potential and I want to be a part of tapping into that.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “Visit Egypt and play golf at Augusta National.”

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “Chris Stapleton.”

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “Favorite month is April. Favorite holiday is Easter and 4th of July is the best day of the year.”

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “The 2019 Masters tournament.”

Q: What is something you want to do as soon as this pandemic is finished?
A: “Visit with my Grandmother and play golf with Jason and Tanner Peacock!”

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My late Grandfather John Wesley Jacobs Jr.”
