Meet Lily Kempker. Lily is a senior at Gainesville High School and plans to attends Georgia College and State University in the fall. Her parents are Jason and Natalie Kempker and she has one sister, Olivia and one brother, Jack. Congrats Lily and best of wishes in your future endeavors!
Quesion: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Answer: “My parents are Jason and Natalie Kempker; I am the oldest out of three siblings. I have a younger sister, Olivia Kempker, who is in 11th grade and attends Lakeview academy and then I have a younger brother, Jack Kempker, who is in 7th grade at Gainesville Middle School.”
What are your plans after graduation?
A: “After graduation I plan to attend Georgia College and State University and major in Early Childhood Education.”
Q: What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: “My two favorite restaurants in our community would be Blue Fin and Johnny’s Barbecue.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “If I could travel anywhere in the world right now I would like to go to Greece. I want to go to Greece because I love the movie ‘Mamma Mia’ and think it would be really cool to see where it was filmed.”
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “One of my favorite movies is ‘Mamma Mia’ and my favorite TV show is ‘Grey’s Anatomy.'”
Q: If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?A: “I would say enjoy the time you have in high school; I know this sounds cheesy, but time literally does fly by it felt like just yesterday I was a freshman. Also, I would encourage everyone to go to sporting events because
there is no better feeling than standing in the Gainesville High School student section cheering for our teams.”
Q: If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
A: “I would cast myself in ‘Gossip Girl.'”
Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
A: I would choose to have lunch with Justin Bieber, ever since I was little I have been obsessed with Justin and have been determined to meet him. I would take him to Mellow Mushroom because I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that he likes Italian food.”
Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: “My favorite thing about our community is the pride people have for the high schools. Growing up in the Gainesville City School System I have seen first hand the generations of fans that continue to come out and
support the Red Elephants. I love the feeling of our close knit community.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?
A: “In five years I plan to be graduating college and hopefully be starting my first real job.”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “One thing on my bucket list is to ride an elephant.”
Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “Justin Bieber.”
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “My favorite month is September because it is the perfect weather. It’s not too hot, but not too cold. My favorite holiday is Christmas and the best single day on the calendar is June 20th because it is the first day of summer!”
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “Eight count chicken nugget meal with a lemonade from Chick-Fil-A, never disappoints!”
Q: What is something you want to do as soon as this pandemic is finished?
A: “Go to a Mexican restaurant with my friends.”
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: “My mom.”
