Jim Harrison is the owner of Harrison Tire, just off the Downtown Gainesville square.  He worked here for over 30 years alongside his father and grandfather.  And now, Harrison Tire is his to run.  He has lived in the Gainesville area for 43 years and grew up working in the tire shop. He takes pride in running the family business and says it’s a “family affair.” Jim Harrison
Over the years he has seen many changes in the Gainesville area but the most he said is the growing population and the amount of traffic in Gainesville.
Harrison is an avid boater and is dedicated to youth athletics in the area. He said he likes being involved in activities that he, “can do with his kids” and at the same time “be involved in other kid’s lives that may not have a father figure at home.”
Jim’s dream vacation would be either to Switzerland or Alaska.
His favorite spot to be in Hall County is on Lake Lanier.
If he had to eat in a local restaurant every day for a week you would find him at Poor Richards.
Jim’s favorite movie is The Avengers and his favorite song is AC/DC’s Back in Black.
When asked what advice what Harrison would give someone he said, “Never give up on your dreams because they become reality.”
When asked at what time in your life were you satisfied he said, “Feeling satisfied means you have quit.  Never quit, never give up, never settle.”
