Meet Abby Gopfert! Abby is the daughter of Arthur and Bridget Gopfert, has one sister, Alexis, and is a  senior at Lakeview Academy.
Abby will be representing the South Hall Rotary in this weekend’s annual Gainesville-Hall Junior League Charity Ball.
Abby plays year round volleyball, cheers for basketball, plays golf and tennis and is involved with Young Life.
We want to thank Abby for recently sitting down with us and telling us more about her life and love of Hall County.
Question: How long have you lived in Hall County?
Answer: 
“Since fifth grade. I moved here from Switzerland. I lived there for two years…I was born in Suwanee and moved when I was six to Switzerland. It was a lot different, no one drove cars. We walked and took the train everywhere, it was a culture shock. I went to an international school and they spoke English to us but we had a German class to learn the language there.”
Q: What is one of your favorite childhood memories?
A: “Living in Switzerland, moving there the first day.”
Q: Do you have a favorite teacher from over the years?
A: “It’s actually my Spanish teacher from last year; Mrs. Vonesh.”
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Hall County?
A: “Probably 2 Dog, I love everything in their breakfast and brunch.”
Q: Where are you hoping to go to college?
A: “I am going to Georgia College in Milledgeville. I want to major in Biology and go into their pre-denistry program.”
Q: What do you like to do for fun?
A: “I play year round volleyball and I cheer for basketball in the winter and I play tennis and gold in the spring, I go to Young Life and a leader of Wild Life, which is Young Life for middle schoolers.”
Q: What social media platform could you not live without?
A: “Probably Snapchat.”
