Meet Abigail Guzman! Abigail is a paralegal at Hasty Pope in Gainesville and she just recently started her own business: Pristine Clean!
“I’ve been at Hasty Pope now for three and a half years. It’s just fantastic, being a paralegal is my passion and I absolutely love it,” she said. “Being a paralegal, having children and my full time job, it gets so hard to manage everything. We have such crazy lifestyles and you want to be the perfect mom, the perfect wife and amazing paralegal and I always felt like I was lacking in keeping up with my home…I would hire cleaning businesses and I would be so disappointed and felt like they did a horrible job and I still had to pay them! I remember telling my husband, ‘I’m going to create a cleaning company and I’m going to come up with elite standards where these women will be fantastic…and I did it.’ Every time I set my mind on something, I’m not comfortable until I accomplish it.”
And that’s what Abigail did five months ago.
“Right now, I have four independent contractors. They are fantastic. We have a service that we offer called Before and After Party Cleaning, if you are hosting an event or you need an assistant during your party, we can help. One of my independent contractors used to cater for the Atlanta Falcons, she did a lot of private events with the Falcons in their homes, so they are all fantastic,” she said.
Abigail is married to Jose Guzman and the couple are the parents of Victoria, 5 and Emiliano, 11. Both children attend Enota Elementary.
We recently caught up with Abigail to find our more about her life and love of Hall County.
Question:Â How long have you lived in Hall County?Â
Answer:Â “I’ve always had family ties to Gainesville since I was a little girl but we moved to Gainesville about five years ago…when my husband and I sat down to talk about where to raise our children it was definitely Gainesville. I really just love who my kids hang out with, know all the parents, know their names and have that small knit community; it’s growing a lot but you still get that hometown vibe.”
Q:Â What is your favorite restaurant in Hall County?
A: “El Sombrero of course…Burrito La Roqueta  everyone has to try it!”
Q: Who is one of the most interesting people that you have met in Hall County?
A:Â “I would say hands down Jonathan Pope. He’s a fantastic attorney, he’s such a genuinely good person; he cares about his staff and clients and he’s been such a mentor.”
Q:Â If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?
A:Â “Greece, the pictures are stunning.”
Q:Â What is the first movie that you remember seeing in the theater?
A:Â “‘Jurassic Park.'”
Q:Â What is something on your bucket list?
A: One of the things on my bucket list was to own my own business, so I have that now. I think really to travel all over the States and in Mexico and then explore other places in the world.”
Q:Â What three bands would you like to see, dead or alive?
A: “I listen to so many types of music. Maroon 5, The Chainsmokers, and take my son to see Luis Fonsi, he’s a Hispanic singer that I’ve never seen in concert.”
Q:Â What is your favorite thing about Hall County?
A: “I think the small town vibe that you get, the tight knit community and Gainesville-Hall County supports each other so much. The first thing I noticed when I moved to Gainesville is how nice everyone is, people would smile at me and wave and I just thought what an awesome place to live.”
Q:Â Where do you see yourself if five or 10 years?
A:Â “I see myself here at Hasty Pope and hopefully see Pristine Clean become a success.
Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A:Â “I went to school in Mexico. My parents sent me to school in Mexico when I was 14, I was there for two years and that’s how I became fluent and was able to read and write Spanish. I am so thankful. I actually met my husband in school in Mexico, we were 14 and we were high school sweethearts. I came back to the States and we continued long distance until we decided to get married…we got married when we were 21.”
Q:Â What three words mean HOME to you?Â
A:Â “Love, family, trust.”
