Meet Beth Baldwin! Beth has deep roots in Gainesville. She graduated from GHS in 1978, took a small hiatus from our town when she attended the University of Tennesseebeth-baldwin where she cheered on the Volunteers as a college cheerleader. She then returned to Hall County and attended Brenau for her MBA. She has worked as a financial advisor with Edward Jones for 26 years now, and just this past year, she ranked in the top 200 women financial advisors for Edwards Jones nationwide.
She is married to Rick Kimpling who also is a financial advisor and has two stepdaughters, Anna and Ally.
 
Question: What inspired you or led you to your current career?
Answer: “I worked as a banker in high school and became interested in this career, and Art Bilyeu at Edward Jones gave me an opportunity.”
 
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Hall County, and what do you love there?
A: “I have three: Scott’s, I get the hamburger; Luna’s, I get the Oriental salad and oysters; and Avocados, I like the grilled chicken salad.”
 
Q: How long have you lived or worked in Hall County?
A: “My whole life, 56 years.”
 
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Hall County?
A: “Gordon Sawyer. He was the first publisher of Poultry Times, pioneer in advertising and he’s been a second father to me.”
 
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: “Australia and New Zealand; it’s on my bucket list to go there. I want to go swim and scuba dive in that part of the world and see the coral reefs.”
 
Q: What is your favorite movie OR what is the first movie you remember seeing in a theater?
A: “’Top Gun’ is one of my favorites. I loved watching Tom Cruise overcome all of his adversity.”
 
Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?
A: “Be yourself and always tell the truth. If you don’t know an answer to a question say ‘I don’t know and I’ll get back with you.’”
 
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “I want to go skydiving — I think it’d be fun to float and free fall, I’m kind of a dare devil.”
 
Q: What is your favorite music/ three bands you would like to see (dead or alive)?
A: “Eagles, Beatles and Bruce Springsteen.”
 
Q: What former local business makes you the most nostalgic about Hall County?
A: “Home Federal, it was a great small town bank, savings and loan service and everything was done with a personal influence — they always wanted to encourage savings which falls in line with what I do now.”
 
Q: Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative: with whom would you love to have lunch?
A: “Queen Elizabeth.  I would love her insight on how the world was and how it’s changed, and how she views technology. She’s a fascinating woman to me. We’d have lunch at the Ritz Carlton in London; it seems like a very proper place for the Queen.”
 
Q: What is your favorite thing about Hall County?
A: “Lake Lanier and jumping off the rock and the pipe.”
 
Q: Where do you see yourself in five or 10 years?
A: “Hopefully doing the same thing at the same place, Edwards Jones. I like helping people with their financial plans and achieve their financials goals.”
 
Q: What is something interesting most people don’t know about you?
A: “My dad opened the Red Shoe House on Oak Street. His name was Red Howse and many of his businesses were a play on his name. Also, my sister is Ava White who owns Ava White Tutorials Academy.”
