Faces of Hall County: Lemi WilliamsLemi Williams just finished his senior season on the football field as a Red Elephant linebacker but after graduating high school will be an aspiring rapper.
He showed off his rapping skills this past football season before the Red Elephants took on in county rival Flowery Branch. The diss track he released on SoundCloud, “We Got the Juice,” featuring friend Tae Stusa was a fast hit at Gainesville High and now has over 15,700 listens on the track. Everyone at GHS is supportive of Lemi’s future in the music industry but Williams says his mom is his No. 1 supporter.
Putting William’s current status as a local rapper aside, he says he’s “a cool down to earth guy.” He’s also very much devoted to family, his mother and brothers, and said his mother was his biggest inspiration.
“When my mom was going through a lot of pain she kept smiling, she never let me or my brothers see her cry,” he said.
Hopefully, we will see Lemi 10 years from now with a headlining rap tour and a song in the Billboard top 100, but as of right now Lemi’s goal 10 years from now is to not have to worry about the price tag.
